Joes Retain Murali-Vaas Trophy

St. Joseph's College retained the Murali-Vass trophy when Antonians held them for a draw at Katugastota in their annual encounter played during the weekend.
Major honours went to the Josephians when they outplayed the Antonians in all departments of the game. Joes were 86 for 6 at one stage on day 1 amassed 282 due to some poor fielding by the Antonians who surprisingly let off six catches.
Josephian skipper who had a good match was awarded the Best Batsman, Best Bowler and Man of the match and Malindu Perera of SACK was adjudged the Best Fielder.
Chief Guest, former Antonian Skipper Angelo Leanage distributed the awards.
