Fr.Rosati Memorial Hall Renovation Project at College By Lakshman Nugawela - SACKOBA Colombo Branch
We commenced Re-furbishing the hall in 2010 spearheaded by Old Antonian Chris Drieberg, of the Australian Branch. He requested me to co-ordinate the project locally. The main donors were OBA Australian Melbourne branch who contributed almost 60% of the cost. Others donors were OBA branches of Brisbane, Canada, Colombo (Sri Lanka) and the OSB Congregation Sri Lanka. Contributions from OLD Antonians received individually were from Old Antonians Tony Stephen in memory of his brother Ken (old antonian) and his parents, An Antonian well wisher from USA through Bishop of Kandy, Akantha Pandithasekera, Tom Thenuwera (New Zealand), Franklyn Rudholf (UK), Vivendra Linthotawela, Lakshman Nugawela,and Raymond Gnanapragasam. The funds donated were utilized for fixing new Fans, Re-wiring, Replacing new Curtains on the Stage and the side Balconies, Automating the operating mechanism of the Stage Curtain , and Painting of the College Hall. The cost incurred so far is approximately rupees 3.4 million of which Rs.341,998.00 is deficit and needs to be settled. We require further funds to complete the remaining work such as Repairing of the Roof concrete slab, Replacing the Ceiling of Hall etc. which is estimated at approximately rupees 1.5 million We look forward to generous contributions from Old Antonians and Well Wishers to complete the renovation project.
