By Lakshman Nugawela - SACKOBA Colombo Branch

We commenced Re-furbishing the hall in 2010 spearheaded by Old Antonian Chris Drieberg, of the Australian Branch. He requested me to co-ordinate the project locally.

The main donors were OBA Australian Melbourne branch who contributed almost 60% of the cost. Others donors were OBA branches of Brisbane, Canada, Colombo (Sri Lanka) and the OSB Congregation Sri Lanka. Contributions from OLD Antonians received individually were from Old Antonians Tony Stephen in memory of his brother Ken (old antonian) and his parents, An Antonian well wisher from USA through Bishop of Kandy, Akantha Pandithasekera, Tom Thenuwera (New Zealand), Franklyn Rudholf (UK), Vivendra Linthotawela, Lakshman Nugawela, and Raymond Gnanapragasam.

The funds donated were utilized for fixing new Fans, Re-wiring, Replacing new Curtains on the Stage and the side Balconies, Automating the operating mechanism of the Stage Curtain , and Painting of the College Hall. The cost incurred so far is approximately rupees 3.4 million of which Rs.341,998.00 is deficit and needs to be settled.

We require further funds to complete the remaining work such as Repairing of the Roof concrete slab, Replacing the Ceiling of Hall etc. which is estimated at approximately rupees 1.5 million

We look forward to generous contributions from Old Antonians and Well Wishers to complete the renovation project. The work done so far could be seen from the Photographs provided on the link below.

Kindly contact self on (+94) -77-7353452 for your contributions towards the Hall project.

See what the College Hall looks like now.
To those who have contributed so far, a big THANK YOU.
You can see for yourself what your money has done for our College Hall.
There is still a bit more to do, before renovations to the Hall is completed.
Those of you have not yet been able to, but thinking of helping with the refurbishment of the Hall, please send your money direct to Lucky Nugewela or by all means send your donation to me or Mark Schrader in Queensland
and we will make sure it reaches the right person as in Lucky Nugewela, who is looking after of the renovations.

Regards,
Chris
