News Request for Information on College "Houses"
Dear Antonians,
The SACKOBA BALL 2011 organized by the Colombo Branch is scheduled to be held at Hilton Colombo on 24th September 2011. In preparation for the SACKOBA BALL, the Souvenir Committee is seeking information for the theme article "A Maroon-Double-Blue Presentation SACKOBA BALL 2011" It will be greatly appreciated if you could find and forward valuable details on
- when the houses were formed and who suggested them - When the colours were selected and how it evolved - achievements by each houses each year - Awards, Shields, Championship Cups etc. presented and its winners - Names of House Captains, Sports Captains - Masters-in-charge of these houses over the years - inter house sports meet records and record holder's names - Names of Event Captains (Athletics, Cricket, Football, Tennis, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Swimming, etc.) - Details of inter-house debating team and its results - Winners of Colours at College by Year, Sport, Type of achievement (wing / Eagle), Description of the achievement etc. - Chief guests at Inter-House sports meets - Any other information you would think that would be useful for presentation in this souvenir.
We are sure that, you could recall your achievements, and that of your Colleagues in your respective Houses during the period you were at College. You may even have Sports meet / Colours Night booklets, documents, Annual magazines, Reports presented at Prize giving's etc. that were printed during your period at College. Sometimes your Father, brothers and relations who studied or were employed at College, may have these documents or would remember some of the details. These would highlight valuable information that we are looking for.
